HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Fifteen minutes.

Femtosecond laser creating a corneal flap during Femto-LASIK
Step 01
Flap creation
A femtosecond laser creates an ultra-thin flap on the surface of your cornea. This takes about 10 seconds and is completely painless.
Excimer laser reshaping the cornea during Femto-LASIK
Step 02
Cornea reshaping
The flap is gently lifted. An excimer laser precisely reshapes the underlying corneal tissue to correct your vision. You see a light — that's it.

Step 03
Natural healing
The flap is repositioned and bonds naturally within hours. No stitches needed. Most patients see clearly by the next morning.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Femto-LASIK FAQ

No. Numbing drops are applied before the procedure. Most patients feel mild pressure but no pain. The laser itself takes under 60 seconds per eye.

The entire visit takes about 1–2 hours including preparation. The actual laser treatment is about 15 minutes for both eyes — the laser itself works for less than 60 seconds per eye.

Most patients return to work and normal activities within 24 hours. We recommend taking it easy for the rest of treatment day.

Yes. The corneal reshaping is permanent. However, the procedure doesn't prevent age-related changes like presbyopia (difficulty reading up close after age 45). If that occurs later, Refractive Lens Exchange is an option.

Traditional LASIK uses a mechanical blade (microkeratome) to create the corneal flap. Femto-LASIK uses a femtosecond laser instead — more precise, more predictable, and safer. All our LASIK procedures are Femto-LASIK.

Temporary dry eye is the most common side effect and usually resolves within a few weeks. We provide lubricating drops and monitor your recovery at your follow-up appointments.
